Что мы знаем об отечественной валюте? Что она называется сом и по курсу стоит намного ниже американского доллара. А ведь национальные деньги – это тоже своеобразная визитная карточка страны, которая должна быть не просто красивой и хорошо защищенной, но и передавать национальные особенности. Несмотря на относительную секретность производства денег, в этом материале я расскажу об интересных фактах создания кыргызстанских сомов и коллекционных монет, а еще покажу рассекреченные эскизы банкнот прошлых лет и утилизированные деньги.

The national currency of any country is a kind of a visit card, which should not be only good-looking and well-protected, but also represent national features. After the Soviet Union has collapsed, Kyrgyzstan was the first CIS country which issued its own national currency. During years of independence four series national currency were printed out, and every time its design became more sophisticated  and better protected. To be noted that it is only in 2014 that the design layouts of the first Kyrgyz banknotes were declassified.

Кто-то знает Страсбург как «парламентскую столицу Европы», а для кого-то главным при выборе посещения этого города является тот факт, что он — столица Рождества (Capital de Noel). А еще родина печатного шрифта, Гутенберга, Марсельезы, фахверковых домой, обжигающего глинтвейна и…продолжать можно долго.

Strasbourg is the crossroads of political and historical road. In this post I have focused on the history and everyday life of the city, which lies on the border with Germany and many times has been part of it. Of course this fact has affected on culture and architecture of the city, which is not only French or German but mixed and very interesting.

В продолжение моих французских неПутевых заметок я расскажу о красивом французском городке региона Эльзас — Кольмаре. Небольшой, но очень известный, не только старинными архитектурными зданиями и невероятно красиво украшенными к  Рождеству улицами, но и  человеческими историями. Именно здесь жили и работали создатель главного символа США — Статуи Свободы — скульптор Бартольди, и известный художник-иллюстратор Анси.

During my French travel-articles I would like to tell about the beautiful French town in the region of Alsace — Colmar. It is small but very well-known town, not only by ancient architectural buildings and incredibly beautiful decorated Christmas streets, but also by live history of people who lived there. In this town lived and worked creator of the famous symbol of the USA — Statue of Liberty — the sculptor Frederic Bartholdi and famous painter and illustrator Hansi (Jean-Jacques Walts).

Совет Европы в Страсбурге, хай-тек в готике/The building of Council of Europe in Strasbourg, high-tech in gothic style

Strasbourg, the City of Alsace, has status of the parliamentary capital of Europe, residence of the European Council since 1949 and the European Parliament since 1992. Careful attitude to the architecture of the city made possible to conserve the charming antique style of the town. However, the political status of Strasbourg needed new buildings. Fortunately, the historic city center did not lose its amazing identity, location of new buildings was chosen far from the historical center, on the banks of the River Ile. It is there that the European quarter appeared.

Продолжаю свои неПутевые заметки. Теперь о Франции. Об истории и особенностях французских городов и их известных жителях. Начну с рассказа о французском городке Сульц, в котором родился и жил, не считая небольшого перерыва на Россию, Жорж-Шарль Дантес.

«На месте Дантеса я бы тоже уехала отсюда в Россию», — это было первое, что я подумала, въехав в городок Сульц – родину Жорж-Шарля Дантеса. Того самого, который «прославился» тем, что убил великого русского поэта Александра Пушкина. Кстати, в оригинале Дантес пишется через апостроф – d’Anthes (как и Д’Аартаньян), но его фамилию почему-то «слили».

During my trip to France I was able to visit a town and the ancestral castle of Georges-Charles d’Anthes, the man who is mostly known only as «the killer of the great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin.» D’Anthes was born and lived after his ill-fated trip to Russia in the small French town Soultz.  D’Anthes was known to court actively for the wife of Pushkin — Natalia Goncharova. Because of it Pushkin invited him to a duel. It is noteworthy that Pushkin not only liked women, but also had a hot temper and was the initiator of 15 duels. According to the laws of those time, the one who called to a duel had to shoot second. D’Anthes did what probably would do the others in his position — shot at the opponent.
